Empire actor Jussie Smollett made his first public appearance since the gruesome attack a week ago. Smollet was seen leaving from the back of the Troubador after his concert on Saturday night.
According to TMZ, During his concert Smollett addressed the incident by saying “I had to be here tonight. I couldn’t let these motherf*****s win.”  He then asked for solidarity and the crowd was with him, as he said, “I’m going to stand strong with y’all.”
As he exited, you can still visibly see the bruises on his face from that horrific night.
Earlier this week, Smollett was attacked at 2 AM by two men in Chicago who screamed homophobic and racial slurs while also yelling “MAGA country” as they brutally beat him and wrapped a rope around his neck.
Police are actively investigating the incident and are on the hunt for any leads.    Chicago PD released a blurry image captured on surveillance video that is believed to be the attackers.
