Singer Miley Cyrus was spotted out after revealing in a Vanity Fair interview that she still very much relates to the LGBT community. The pop star was seen grabbing dinner at the SOHO house with a bunch of friends on the heels of a massive interview with VF were she talked about being a ‘queer‘ person and how she and Hemsworth are redefining what a marriage looks like:
“The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn’t old-fashioned—I actually think it’s kind of New Age. We’re redefining, to be f**king frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship.”
Miley explained further on the topic of still identifying as bisexual –
“Relationships and partnerships in a new generation—I don’t think they have so much to do with sexuality or gender. Sex is actually a small part, and gender is a very small, almost irrelevant part of relationships.”
Cyrus admits to being overwhelmed when the Woolsey Fires occurred, that burned down hers and Liam’s house and revealing to Vanity Fair that she originally didn’t know how she was going to survive the catastrophe.
It was like being forced to lose all her personal belongings made her come back to Earth and feel like a weight was lifted off her shoulders, it made her human again…
“It feels like there were weights tied to my ankles and I was in the ocean, and someone just cut those ties, and I was able to float and be free”
‘What Liam and I went through together changed us. I’m not sure without losing Malibu, we would’ve been ready to take this step or ever even gotten married, who can say? But the timing felt right and I go with my heart. No one is promised the next day, or the next, so I try to be “in the now” as much as possible.’
Now Miley has a new lease on life after losing all her personal belongings but it’s the sentimental stuff that gets to her, like losing personal letters from the late Heath Ledger, John Kricfalusi, and Joan Jett, or her hand-written lyrics for many of her hit songs like Wrecking Ball.
CAREFREE FOREVER: The new Miley is different and more carefree. The simple things in life are her biggest joy and having a ‘survival partner’ like she calls hubby Hemsworth, is what matters to her now.
“No one is promised the next day, or the next, so I try to be “in the now” as much as possible. If I ever find myself thinking too far ahead, I acknowledge that anxiety and bring myself back into my body and out of my head.” – Vanity Fair
