A batch of photos came through this week that gives a sneak peak at production on the next Bad Boys movie – Bad Boys For Life. The last sequel came out in 2003, but what’s old is interesting again; plans for a continuation have been kicking around ever since. The cult favorite has been brought back to life for not one, but two new movies – a fourth is also entering development.
One group of photos looks to be taken during filming. Fans can see Martin Lawrence sticking his head out the window of his car, yelling some choice words at a couple of bikini clad beauties crossing the street in front of him.
Lawrence’s character, Detective Mark Burnett, might have just been asking the ladies for directions. But it’s more likely that this is an opportunity to pair Lawrence’s one-liners with some Miami beach bodies.
Other shots capture Will Smith in and around set. Getting into trailers, moving from A to B, the in between time that actors everywhere swear is deceptively boring. Likely as not, there are some days when everything is thumbs up, as we see Will demonstrate in one shot here. But then other days, the look where he’s just staring out that car window, stone faced, is closer to reality.
But there’s no evidence in these pictures to rain on the Bad Boys parade. This movie is definitely happening. Behold, a franchise reborn.
Bad Boys For Life is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. It stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Joe Pantoliano, Paola Nunez, Jacob Scipio, and DJ Khaled. Seventeen years in the making: the third installment is scheduled for a January 17, 2020 release.
