It’s official! Rami Malek has joined the roster of the new 007 movie and everyone is beside themselves in excitement.
The Oscar-winning actor confirmed on Good Morning America that he will become the franchise’s newest villain and already know’s ‘quite a bit’ about the new movie Bond 25.
He couldn’t contain his excitement about taking on such an iconic role and says it was a surprise when he got the news.
When GMA host George Stephanopoulos asked him if he ever thought he would ever be part of the 007 franchise, Malek answered –
“No, a few things have happened in my life in the last couple of years where I thought I cannot imagine that these things are happening (talking about his Oscar win for Bohemian Rhapsody)”, he continued, “But, yeah, I mean this is just a perfect follow-up I think to Bohemian Rhapsody. Going from one iconic Brit to an iconic British franchise.”
The American actor is not short of iconic roles, he is in the middle of wrapping up the show that put him on the map, Mr. Robot in NYC.
Rami was photographed filming a night scene where a woman is talking to him and tries to shake some sense into him by putting her arms on his shoulders.
When Rami was asked on GMA about how he felt about Daniel Craig and his portrayal of James Bond he had nothing but nice things to say and insisted he’s not intimidated by him one bit.
He promised he will be giving Craig a run for his money playing opposite him on the big screen in the actor’s last 007 film – “It will be very interesting to go up against that man” Rami boasted.
The release date of the last season of Mr. Robot has not been revealed but it’s pegged to be somewhere in 2019 on the USA network.
