John Singleton is being laid to rest today in Los Angeles and tons of his famous friends are showing up to say their final goodbyes to the award-winning director.
Services for the Boys n the Hood legend are taking place at the Angelus Funeral Home in Crenshaw, CA. By the looks of it, the man was loved beyond compare.
Some of the famous faces arriving include Ving Rhames, Morris Chestnut, Tyrese, Ice Cube, Tina Knowles, Nia Long, Ludacris, and Maxine Waters.
On April 28th Singleton passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a massive stroke on April 17th. According to TMZ, the director had checked himself in after returning from Coast Rica and experiencing problems with his legs. After the stroke, Singleton lay in a coma for a number of days before the family made the decision to remove him from life support.
Singleton was only 51 at the time of his death. His amazing career started way back in his 20s when he became the first African American Director nominated for an Academy Award at the age of 25.
His career spanned almost three decades. Singleton went on to direct 9 films and make a name for himself on television as well.
