Beauty blogger James Charles has been laying low ever since his mentor Tati Westbrook called him a backstabbing sellout.
The American internet personality hopped out of his van and beelined it straight for his plane wearing Balenciaga jean jacket, black hoodie and a pair of dark sweatpants. His face was uncharacteristically bare, but of course, his nails were on point.
Charles was down under for the opening of his Sister Apparel Store at the Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast Mall. He reportedly showed up two hours late and had to apologize for his tardiness saying “he had a lot of personal stuff this morning.”
Earlier this week James lost over 3 million YouTube subscribers after Tati Westbrook called him out in a 43-minute video that has since exploded on YouTube. Not only did he lose a massive chunk of his fan base, but he was also unfollowed by some of his celebrity friends including Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner, and Shawn Mendes.
During Tati’s rant, she explained how she felt betrayed after her “friend” shared an unsponsored Instagram story for Sugar Bear Hair products – which is Westbrooke’s direct competitor. She went on to accuse the CoverGirl male brand ambassador of sexually harassing men and manipulating people around him.
Charles quickly attempted a mia culpa by releasing his own video apologizing for his actions and “mistakes.” Clearly, the damage has been done and his fan base continues to downsize.
Tati’s video has already received a staggering 43 million views and growing. While James’ apology video is getting skewered, it’s racked up over 2.3 million DISLIKES, making it one of the top 10 most disliked videos in YouTube history.
