ASAP Rocky has a lot to be grateful about after finally being released from Swedish jail and being able to perform at The Real Street Festival in Anaheim.
The recently freed rapper looked ecstatic after being caught up in a legal controversy that held him captive at a Swedish jail after he and his bodyguard beat-up two overzealous fans who wouldn’t leave the rapper alone.
A$AP shared a video of two guys persistently following them around in Stockholm as they were walking around when the incident occurred, saying — ‘SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS, WE DON’T KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE, THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS, AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED, GIVE ME A BREAK’.
The alleged victim, who was identified as Mustafa Jafari, and a friend appeared to continue to harass A$AP and his crew, and even punching the bodyguard at one point and hitting him with his earphones after they were repeatedly asked to leave.
The same men continued to follow the New York rapper and his crew and demanded they replace the headphones that Jafari hit the bodyguard with as A$AP tries to defuse the situation to no avail.
What happened next is what landed A$AP rocky in Swedish jail because the guys received a beat-down from the rapper and his crew which was believed to be ‘excessive’ by Swedish law since they thought the rapper had thrown a bottle at the victim.
However, two separate eyewitnesses saw the violent street fight between the rapper and the alleged victims said they never saw Rocky hit the victim with a bottle — clearing him of excessive force and finally giving him back his freedom for now.
The final verdict on the case won’t come until August 14 when the Swedish court will make its final decision whether to drop the case or convict A$AP Rocky which could land him back in a Swedish prison for 6 months.
