Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy hold hands exiting a courthouse in Boston after she’s handed 14 days behind bars, 250 hours of community service and $30K fine for her involvement in the college bribery case.
The couple looked downcast after being handed the sentence after prosecutors were gunning for at least four months behind bars but retracted to just one month with probation and fines.
Felicity appeared deeply worried as she arrived at court wearing a demure navy dress with tan kitten heels and carrying a black purse.
She wore minimal makeup as she clasped her husband’s hand who was wearing a navy suit with an unshaven face and a look of concern.
The former Desperate Housewives actress was originally hoping for no jail time and took the stand to express her regret over her decision to fork over $15,000 to rig her daughter’s SAT exam in hopes of receiving the lighter sentence.
She addressed the judge saying — “I am deeply sorry to the students, parents, colleges, and universities impacted by my actions”, she continued, “I have inflicted more damage [on daughter] than I could’ve ever imagined.”
She will begin her 2-week sentence on October 25th and will probably only serve half the time for good behavior and overcrowding.
At least she can put the scandal behind her and move on.
It will be interesting to see how her case pans out since she decided to go a completely different route than Felicity Huffman.
