The incident happened when he and an unidentified female left the UNICEF Masquerade Ball on Saturday night with him looking worse for wear and barely able to hold himself up as they waited for their ride to pick them up.
The unfortunate slip up did not have him down in the dumps the next day but he rather seemed upbeat after this weekend letting shutterbugs know that it wasn’t going to derail him and admitting to his lapse in judgment.
The Live by Night actor was spotted later in the day with his ex-Jennifer Garner and their kids Seraphina Affleck and Samuel Affleck trying to keep his mind busy and decorating for fall.
Ben’s had a long history with alcoholism stemming back from his childhood when he watched his father abuse alcohol, opening up about it a 2012 interview with Barbara Walters — “[My father] was an alcoholic… I did know that as a child. He drank a lot. My father was a — what did they call him — a real alcoholic. He, you know, drank all day, drank every day, and to his credit, he got sober ultimately,” he revealed. “He’s been sober for several decades, which I think is pretty impressive.”
He was spotted on Monday as he ran his daily errands looking a bit tired after it was reported that he didn’t just fall off the wagon when it comes to sobriety but also went to Commerce Casino with his date after he left the UNICEF party (it’s been widely reported that he suffers from gambling addiction as well as alcoholism).
He can be seen next as Holden McNeil with best friend and co-star Matt Damon in the long-anticipated Jay and Silent Bob Reboot that’s slated to come out November 28th, 2019.
