Joaquin Phoenix joins Jane Fonda’s Fire Drill Friday to fight global warming and ends up getting arrested for the good cause.

The award-winning actor spoke to the large gathering of protestors in Washington D.C. and urged them to go vegan citing the dairy and meat industry as the third leading cause of global warming.



“I don’t have anything prepared” said The Joker actor. “People have spoken so intelligently and eloquently, but something often time is not talked about in the environmental movement or the conversations about climate change is that the meat and dairy industry is the third leading cause of climate change.”

“I think sometimes we wonder what we can do with the fight against climate change, and there’s something you can do today, right now, and tomorrow by making a choice in what you consume.”

After the moving speech Joaquin and Martin Sheen were detained as Jane Fonda avoided being cuffed for the fifth time since it could potentially mean jail time for the outspoken actress.
