Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley on the set of Saved by The Bell as they begin shooting the highly anticipated reboot of the 90s show in Los Angeles.
The Access Hollywood host looked youthful in a gray tank top, dark denim jeans, and white sneakers while The Any Given Sunday actress wore a dark blue blazer, printed scarf, blue button-up shirt, black trousers, and black boots for the scene.
The alumni return to their old stomping grounds when they find out their former classmate and now governor of the state, Zack Morris, is closing down too many low-income schools and proposes the students be sent to the highest performing schools in the state including Bayside High after getting into hot water over the matter.
Lopez and Berkley are first to make the comeback to Bayside High and were pictured smiling while shooting on the football field reprising their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano after nearly 30 years since the final episode aired in 1993.
It’s confirmed Mark-Paul Gosselaar will be returning as the lovable but mischievous Zack Morris and rumors are rampant that his high school sweetheart Tiffani Thiessen will be returning as his love interest.
“Everybody can sleep well at night,” said Gosselaar at a party for the Television Critics Association last month. “I think Tiffani [Thiessen] has been engaged with [Zack Morris]. It looks like you will have us in some capacity” he hinted.
Mario and Elizabeth, who also played high school sweethearts, shot the first promo back at the beginning of the year sharing their delight to be able to fall right back into their teen roles — “I feel like only people that have the history that we have could just drop like that” she said while filming. “We dropped like it’s hot”.
The 2020 version will include transgender actress Josie Totah as the ‘beautiful and sharp-tongued cheerleader Lexi who, as the most popular girl at Bayside High, is equal parts admired and feared by her fellow students.’
